Open Auditions – Free Jazz Arts Education Program
Open Auditions is the first step in the journey to join Jazz Power Musical 2024, a transformative 12-week immersive experience in jazz singing, theater and movement.
Who can join?
Aspiring singers, actors, and arts performance enthusiasts, ages 10-18.
When does the Open Audition happen?
January 18th, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm
February 8th, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.
*Doors open at 4:00pm – registration and snacks.
Where do Open Auditions happen?
Holy Trinity Church Inwood (HTC), 2nd floor. 20 Cumming St, New York, NY, 10034. Near the A train Dyckman Street station (2 min walk).
What to expect on Open Audition day?
• Warm up- voice, theatre and movement.
• Learn a song and movement from Jazz Power Musical, Holding The Torch For Liberty, about women fighting for their right to vote.
• Practice singing and movement to the song in a supportive environment.
• Work and learn alongside other talented young people with support from Jazz Power award winning professional artists.
• Have fun in the world of singing and acting!
What happens after Open Auditions?
• Be invited to 2nd placement audition to perform the song you learned in the Open Audition as a solo and in a group and read some text from the show.
• All students who complete Open Audition will be invited to register for Jazz Power Musical Spring 2024 and be part of the musical presentation, at no cost to the family.
