NoMAA Labs: Intro to Latin Percussion

Join us for NoMAA Labs: Workshops , a monthly workshop and networking series hosted by the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance!

Designed to creativity, collaboration, and professional development, this series alternates between community-based and artist-focused sessions. Each month, participants can engage with industry professionals, gain practical skills, and connect with fellow creatives in a supportive environment.

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at Latin percussion? This beginner-friendly workshop is the perfect opportunity to explore the basics of Afro-Caribbean rhythms with local legend Annette A. Aguilar!

No prior experience is needed—just bring your enthusiasm and get ready to learn essential techniques, experiment with different percussion instruments, and discover the cultural roots of Latin music.

Under Annette’s expert guidance, you’ll gain the confidence to play along with traditional beats in a fun and supportive environment. Come make some noise and start your percussion journey!
